Committees
The Council is permitted to establish committees, sub-committees and working parties with specific roles or tasks. All committees and sub-committees have 'Terms of Reference' that clearly sets out what it should do and what it is limited to. If the Council thinks it appropriate 'non-councillors' can be appointed to a committee in addition to councillors. Non-councillor members have limited voting rights. All committee or sub-committee meetings must be conducted in the same way as a council meeting and follow the adopted Standing Orders.
Committees and sub-committees are established each year at the Annual Council Meeting and the members are appointed.
