The Boundary Commission for England (BCE) has proposed to move Stanwick, Hargrave and Raunds from the parliamentary area of 'Corby' to 'Wellingborough'.

The pertinent highlights are: -

●      Constituencies must be within 69,724 and 77,062 electors except for protected constituencies.

●      Corby (proposed to have a name changed to Corby and East Northamptonshire) constituency is currently around 10,000 too large

●      Whilst the first proposal some years back was for Irthlingborough to move to Wellingborough, the new proposal from BCE is for Raunds Stanwick Hargrave to move to the Wellingborough constituency

●      Detailed information can be found here -

The Parish Council objects to these changes as it does not believe it is in the best interests of the residents of Stanwick.

The Council encourages individual residents to make their own representation before the closing date of 2nd August 2021.

There are two ways of making a representation:

●      Online via the Commission’s website

●      In writing

Representations must be made to the Boundary Commission by 2 August 2021

Online via the Commission’s website -

There is a web form which you will need to complete. [select Make a general comment]

The form only accepts comments up to 10000 characters, so more detailed representations need to be written in a Word document and sent as an attachment.
