With the Government launching a new initiative to combat obesity in England, East Northamptonshire Council is encouraging everyone to explore the countryside, cycle paths and Nene Valley on two wheels whilst getting fit and healthy at the same time.

For those who want to get out and about in East Northamptonshire, but are not sure where to start, Destination Nene Valley has plenty of resources on their website nenevalley.net including cycling routes, hints and tips for beginner cyclists and details of bike hire companies in and around the district.

Across the district, there are many opportunities for residents to get out and about including the East Northamptonshire Council funded Greenway, which runs throughout the district and provides a safe routes for cyclists and walkers alike. Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, the Greenway has proved popular with residents of all ages using the routes for their daily exercise, and it is hoped that this will continue as lockdown and current guidance is eased.

For more information about cycling in East Northamptonshire, anyone interested is encouraged to visit nenevalley.net/see-and-do/discover/cycling/ where they will find more information, including maps and routes of the local area.
